A FEW JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

Craft Service
Responsible for maintaining a table of snacks between meal periods; sometimes they feed the crew or extras. See also catering.

On the set of Young Americans, I, Elena, did the craft services. The picture below is an example of my table. It can be a very social place where the cast and crew gather. Though it is a very hard, exausting job. The moment you run out of something, everyone hates you. Yet the producers expect you to keep to a budget. It still can be fun- you get to meet everyone!

The writer or other primary creative force behind a movie, series, or group of characters.

Gaffer
Also: Chief Lighting Technician

The head of the electrical department. In Early Modern English, this term meant "old man".

Grip

In the USA, a grip is a person responsible for the adjustment and maintenance of production equipment on the set. Their typical duties include laying dolly tracks or erecting scaffolding. In the UK, grips work exclusively with equipment that the camera is mounted on. Contrast with swing gang, see also key grip.

Property Master
Also: Prop Master, Props, Property, Assistant Property Master

A person responsible for buying/acquiring any props needed for a production. Contrast with set dresser.

Stand-In (Also: Stand In)

A person who has the same physical properties of a particular actor, and takes their place during the lengthy setup of a scene. This allows the actor to prepare for the filming itself. Contrast with stunt double and body double.

A person who physically decorates a set, placing elements such as curtains and paintings. Contrast with set decorator, property master

Here's a pic of Kris with Ian, and Kris with Kris with Kate M. Both pics taken by me! Now look below at what a JaHammer did! (For those who don't know- fans of the YA characters Jake, and Hamilton call themselves "JaHammers") Wow! It's so great to see such dedicated fans to our show, YA!
