ABOUT RESURAM GALLERY:

Resurgam Gallery is an exceptional venue for Baltimore artists, drawing clientele from Washington, D.C.  as well as Baltimore and its suburbs.  A few blocks south of the Inner Harbor,  it has become an active cultural destination for visitors to Federal Hill.

Each of the four artists has exhibited in many locations in Baltimore with the Morton Street Group, a figurative drawing group founded overten years ago.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

By Lois Borgenicht

Lois Borgenicht studied at Boston University of Fine Arts and at the New York Studio School.  She has shown her work all over the country and her still lifes and portraits are included in many private collections.
This January the artist will be showing works on paper.  As in her most
recent solo exhibition at Resurgam in May, 2001, Borgenicht continues to take us on colorful 'trips' to France, Mexico, India, Japan and Morocco with her amazing collection of still life objects and fabulous drapery.

By Joe Giordano

Joe Giordano will show paintings from the figure.  Giordano's paintings excel in their atmospheric color.  His viscous, sensuous paint surface is well suited to depict the delicate flesh quality of the human figure in the artist's studio setting.  Giordano has exhibited nationally.  He has received grants from the National Endowment of the Arts and the New York State Council on the Arts.  Public collections include the Brooklyn Museum, the Library of Congress and the New York City Public Library.

By Paul Moscatt

Paul Moscatt, born in Brooklyn, NY, was educated at Cooper Union, NYC and Yale University Art School.  He has taught at the Maryland Institute, College of Art since 1966.  He has exhibited extensively in Maryland as well as in New York and other states.  Along with Moscatt's fresh watercolors, the artist will be exhibiting  "Sleepover",  a tour de force figure painting, achieved with the help of a grant from the Maryland Institute to work with multiple figures.  In "Sleepover" Moscatt paints five figures directly from life bringing them into a lush mix of fantasy and reality.

By Ira Peregoff

Ira Peregoff has pursued dual careers since he started art lessons and the Maryland Institute at the age of 10.  He has a degree from the
Worton School of Finance and has had a successful career in business
throughout his life.  Peregoff  has shown his watercolors, charcoal
drawings and oil paintings in many exhibitions, most recently at
Resurgam Gallery.  Peregoff achieves a delicate sense of light as well
as a sculptural sense of form in his figure works.  The success of the
gesture and proportion bring a new appreciation to the traditional theme
of the model in the artist's studio.
