When I let the girls go, they
ran as fast as they could to the bouncing animals.

1. Kristin'sreal brother Jeremy plays her cousin Zachary Daniels on the show and her real cousin Daniel plays her brother Mark Watts. 2. Matthew McClain wrote and is directing the next episode, Tyler's Way. 3. The King of Yang is... TJ, Britney's lead dancer....NOT!!! (Like we'd tell!) 4. The role of Jamie Watts was actually created for Kristin Keswick. It was originally supposed to be a short film about a young girl having to face her father's new girlfriend. 5. Jamie's original name was "Brandi", and then it was changed to "Jaimie" (like in the script below) and then it was finally changed to "Jamie". 6. The first
title of the show was "As Brandi sees it"

A few scenes from the original script:
INT. JAIMIE’S
BEDROOM- DUSK
Jaimie stands
in front of the mirror, holding a very big pink hairbrush. No Doubt
is playing on her portable boom box. Jaimie lip sinc’s into her hairbrush
as she watches herself in the mirror. She then leans close to one
of her many posters and sings to “him”. “He” is Johnny Pedro, one
of the members of the band 1313. Jaimie has zillions of pictures
and posters all over her room of the members of the band 1313.
LAUREN, Jaimie’s mother pounds on the door.
LAUREN (V.O.)
C’mon, Jaimie, it‘s time to go!!!
JAIMIE
I’ll be there in a SEC!
LAUREN (V.O.)
(BANGING ON DOOR AGAIN)
I mean NOW!! Come on- you’re late!!
Jaimie turns
the stereo off and adjusts herself in the mirror. She blows
a kiss to one of her posters as she walks out of the room.
INT WATT’S
LIVING ROOM- DUSK
Jaimie runs
down the steps ready for her dinner date. LAUREN waits at the bottom
of the steps holding a mini tape recorder and some loose wires. She
stares at her daughter’s shoes.
LAUREN
You’re wearing them? Why on earth did I let
you start dressing yourself?
JAIMIE
Mom! They’re the height of fashion!
LAUREN
Not in my magazines. Okay, put this on.
JAIMIE
(NOTICING THE TAPE RECORDER)
No! Mom, I told you I won’t wear that.
LAUREN
How come, honey? Please? For Mommy? If you
wear this you won’t have to recap the evening for me.
JAIMIE
NO!
LAUREN
You won’t even have to describe her outfit!! I won’t
ask you any
more questions about her.
JAIMIE
Yeah, right. You’d be asking a million zillion questions
even if she
was standing right in front of you. Why
do I even
have to go tonight? I don’t want to meet
Dad’s new
girlfriend. I wish you and Dad didn’t
get divorced. I wish the three of us were the ones
going to dinner.
LAUREN
(kneeling down in front of her)
I wish all that too Sweetie. But we did get
divorced. And though your father and I
are not together anymore, we will always
be your parents and will always love you.
JAIMIE
(HUGGING HER MOTHER)
I know, Mom.
Jaimie sees her fathers car pull up.
JAIMIE (CONT.)
He’s here.
Lauren (still kneeling) starts to strap the recorder to Jaime’s waist.
LAUREN
(FUMBLING WITH TAPE RECORDER)
Now you be good, tonight. And don’t be so
nervous.
Jaimie opens the door for her father, DANIEL WATTS, who wears a conservative business suit.
JAIMIE
You’re the one who’s nervous.
(NOTICING
RECORDER)
No, Mom!!
I said NO!!
DANIEL
Wow- she’s beginning to SOUND more and more
like you everyday.
Lauren stands up, giving Daniel a sarcastic look.
LAUREN
Just be good to her. If she feels uncomfortable
meeting your little “school-girl” girlfriend, then
bring her back home immediately.
JAIMIE
What? She’s in college or something?
DANIEL
No- Dear. She’s your mothers age. A fact your
mother finds hard to believe.
Jaimie and her father walk towards the car. Jaimie waves to FREDDIE, their next door neighbor who stands on his porch smoking a cigar.
FREDDIE
Neat shoes, JAIMIE.
JAIMIE
Thank you, Freddie! I like yours too!
Lauren
smiles at Freddie and casually glances at his shoes. She tries to
hold her laughter in.
Jaimie waves
to her mother as she gets in the car. They drive away.
FREDDIE
Big night for the kid?
LAUREN
Yeah- she’s meeting her father’s new
girlfriend.
FREDDIE
And you let her go?!
LAUREN
I had to. I had no choice.
FRED
But you did. You’re a great mother, Lauren.
LAUREN
Thanks, Fred. By the way- I hate your shoes.
FRED
(WITH A BIG GRIN)
I know.
LAUREN
Good night Freddie.
FRED
Good night Ms. Lauren.
INT. LUNA’S RESTAURANT- DUSK
Extreme close up of Jaimie as she sits by hostess stand.
JAIMIE (V.O.)
I can’t believe we have to wait for a table. You’d
think this woman would have at least made us a
reservation. For that matter- I can’t believe she’s...
(LOOKING AT HER DAD’S WATCH)
(TO HIM)
A half hour late?
DANIEL
Did you say something Sweetie?
JAIMIE
Dad, she’s a half hour late. What kind of
impression does she expect to make being late?
Daniel turns his head to see LUNA walking towards them. She is wearing a western type leather dress and cowboy boots. Daniel stands up and waves to her. Jaimie stares in dismay.
JAIMIE (V.O.)
Oh-my god! She looks like she just stepped out
of a music video!!
Luna and Daniel kiss. Jaimie still stares.
JAIMIE (V.O.)
Who does she think she is, Dolly Parton? I can’t
wait to tell Mom!
DANIEL
Jaimie- I’d like you to meet my friend Luna, Luna- this
is my daughter, Jaimie.
LUNA
(PUTTING HER DECORATED HAND OUT)
Pleased to meet you- Miss Jaimie.
JAIMIE
(HESITANTLY SHAKING HER HAND)
Yeah- you too.
One of the menus falls on the ground by Jaimie’s feet. She notices the name as she hands it back to the hostess.
LUNA
Welcome to my restaurant- would you like to
pick out our table?
JAIMIE
You own this place?
LUNA
I sure do! Now that my divorce is final this
place is all mine!
JAIMIE (V.O.)
That’s kinda cool! I’d love to own my own
restaurant. This might be fun!
Luna smiles
at Daniel and grabs his hand. Jaimie looks around- notices a table
in the back and points it out. The hostess leads the group over to
the table.
INT JAIMIE’S TABLE- LUNA’S CAFÉ- NIGHT
The three are seated. They start to look over the menu. JAIMIE peaking at Luna and her father every once in a while.
DANIEL
Sweetie- do you have any recommendations?
