The History of Jamie's Way,
as told by Jamie Watts (Spring, 2001)
| Hello!
My name is Jamie Renee Watts. I was
born on August 12th, 1987. I'm thirteen years old (going on 23- ha
ha). I'm in the 8th grade at The Greenfield School in Baltimore,
Maryland. For more details on my personal stats- CLICK
HERE to check out my bio page.
So you're a new visitor! Welcome to my world! This page should help fill you in with our basic plots and history. If you can't see our digital drama on Media Player or Real Player, then you can read our scripts. Also, you can read my diary in between episodes. We update often with new pictures taken as we rehearse or film each episode. The story goes like this....
JUNE 25TH, 1985:
SEPTEMBER 9th, 1985: Mark Jeffries Watts is born, at exactly noon on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. My brother Mark was a very quiet baby.
It seemed he needed no attention at all. So Dad
continued to go to school by day, and work by night. And Mom
continued working part time as a waitress.
AUGUST 12TH, 1987 And then I am born!! Jamie Renee Watts- born at 9:35pm at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Evidently the day I was brought home- Grandma and Mark had decorated
the house with tons of balloons, and baby decorations. When Mom
and Dad brought me to the front door, Grandma
and Mark greeted us. But Mark stepped
on one of the balloons, and it popped- causing me to scream for over an
hour! Mark was so punished that day.
He must have hated me! But he only laughs about it now. :)
DECEMBER 1ST, 1987
NOVEMBER 25TH, 1997
Up until that day they had been arguing so much. And I'll never
forget the moment my dad left. Up until then- the house was always
so noisy. Between my brother and I chasing each other around,
and competing for toys, and Mom and Dad either arguing or making up, our
house always seemed so busy. So full of love. Now all of a
sudden it was quiet. So still that for the rest of the week we didn't
know what to do. We felt like visitors- like guests in our own home...
AUGUST 21TH, 1998 - EPISODE
ONE: THE KING OF YANG
The divorce is final. Mom receives the divorce papers from Dad. :(
This was really sad, because I had hoped they'd get back together. I chatted with the King of Yang about this, and he made me feel a little bit better. He pointed out that because of my parents separation- I met Toby Jones, and now share a carpool with him a few days a week. So I felt a little bit better. But not much- I'd prefer having my Dad back at home with us. I've been trying to figure out who the King of
Yang is. I thought it was Freddie,
but then he told me he had a "TRS-80". I had just turned
11 years old this month. I felt so old. But as I look at these
pics- I am such a baby!!
DECEMBER 12TH, 2000 - EPISODE
TWO: THE AUTOGRAPH
Aunt Emmie comes to visit for the weekend with little Zachary. I hadn't seen little Zack in so long! It was so great seeing them! Aunt Emmie gave me some advice about Toby that got me in hot water with Samantha Jenkins- the "queen" of our school (or more like "Tyrant"). She's given me trouble ever since. But I can handle it- I'm the "Queen of Yin" (at AOL at least!) MARCH 25TH, 2001 - EPISODE
THREE: TYLER'S WAY
The Spring Fling is around the corner- our big school dance. Everyone is concerned about who they are going to take. Tyler Hanson, our school prankster tells Max Sweeney to play hard to get with April Karlow, my best friend, and not ask her to the dance. She gets all confused, because she was hoping to go with Max. I find out and confront Tyler. I also attempt to ask Toby to the dance (I finally have enough courage!) but Samantha gets in the way- once again. :(
MARCH 31TH, 2001- THE MY HAIR TURNED GREEN This is the day my Aunt Vicki saved me from being forever punished! It was the weekend Mom went away, and Aunt Vicki and Freddie hired Dennis, and Laurie to paint the outside of our house! You should see it! It's so pretty! Anyway... so Mom had two BIG surprises waiting for her...
While Aunt Vicki and Freddie were supervising the painting of our house, Kristie and Lonnie, my two neighborhood friends were over. I wanted to lighten my hair. But I was doing it slowly- shade by shade. Up until this time, Mom didn't seem to notice. I think this "hair color" obsession runs in the family. She had darkened her hair right after the divorce. And recently, she started lightening it again. Aunt Vickie has dyed her hair all colors of the rainbow. And Aunt Emmie always seems to have new colors in her hair every time I see her. I was just going to be subtle with mine.
Then one Saturday- I shampooed my hair with some stuff Lonnie's mom uses. Lonnie told me it seemed to lighten her mom's hair just a touch, and always made it look pretty. So I used it- but it made my hair turn GREEN!!! Aunt Vicki heard us scream, and came running upstairs! Luckily, her friend, Mary was the manager of Cheryl's Salon in Baltimore. So Aunt Vicki rushed me to Cheryl's Salon, and they took care of the green. Now I have a really cool new look!
Mom was upset about my new color, and let me keep it for two weeks.
APRIL 14TH, 2001 - EPISODE 4: THE SPRING FLING I had it darkened the same day as the Spring Fling, and had a BLAST as a brunette that night!! Wow! What a night! At first it was just so boring, but then it got GREAT!! What a dance partner!!!
COMING SOON: THE NEXT EPISODE!! Will it be about Uncle Asher's concert? Or will it be something
completely different? Tune in often to find out! And
