ELENA MOSCATT

"One day you will be turning on your computer to watch your favorite shows.
Let Jamie's Way be your first favorite Internet Series!"  EM

here I am in 1977 at a puppet show at the Baltimore Musuem of Art
I've been a writer and a very big day dreamer since the young age of six.  I remember listening to a radio show about some female author and how she made up her characters and the next thing I know I'm drawing a picture of a girl named "Linda".  She became my first character from my first story "Linda In Space".

For the past twelve years I've been freelancing in the film business in the craft services and wardrobe departments.  It's been a great way of making a living because it has given me plenty of time to write.  But when you're doing craft services and you tell people you're really a writer they usually laugh in your face.  So I've lived a double life, and it's been hard.  My creative side has been hurting.  I felt I was losing touch with my true dreams of being involved in the process of film-making.  Especially the process of writing and telling stories.  My plots, characters, and ideas were just mounting up, without anywhere to go...

And then came the INTERNET...

January 1998:

I first created Jamie's Way as an experiment.  It was originally going to be a short film that simply gave me experience as a writer and director.  But the more I worked on the website, and talked to my friends, family, cast and crew- the more I realized it was something more than a one-time short.  It WAS a series- An Internet Series!  And once the video footage was actually on the web, and hits were flocking to the site, we realized it was the "I Love Lucy" of the Internet!  The first of it's kind- an "Internet teen Drama"!

Jamie's Way still has a long way to go.  One day there will be over 100 episodes on the web in front of you- ready to be watched at any time.  But until we find the proper funding, we can only do as much as we can.  So we're plugging away at it- and building this BABY UP!  I hope you enjoy our website, and find all kinds of little surprises in it!  And I hope that you enjoy the characters of Jamie Watts, and her friends as much as I do- and you continue to get to know them as we continue to build them!  Thank you!  EM

Movies I worked on
  • "Hairspray", directed by John Waters!  My first film!  I was an intern in the wardrobe department. I also did wardrobe on:  "Dick" (an assistant for a day), "The Jealous God" (wardrobe designer), "Washington Square" (assisted).
  • I spent the summer in 1990 working as Kevin Bacon's personal assistant on the film , "He Said, She Said"    He's such a great guy! "Hi Kevin!"
  • I have worked on a lot of films in the craft services department, including: "12 Monkeys", "Contact", "Mars Attacks", "Major League 2", "Deep Impact", "Adversaries","Liberty Heights", "Random Hearts", "Pecker", "Cecil B. Demented", "The Replacements" , "Gods and Generals", "Hanssen" (NBC TV movie)
  • Recently-  I worked on the first and second seasons of the new HBO series "The Wire" as craft services key.    I absolutely adored the cast and crew of that show!  That was my  most favorite job as of yet, and I can't wait until season three!!!!!!
  • I just finished working on the John Waters film, "A Dirty Shame" in November, 2003.  It starred Tracy Ulman, Johnny Knoxville, and Chris Isaak- my favorite singer!!

I was the assistant wardrobe designer on "Dead Man's Curve" (AKA "The Curve") with Kerri Russell and Matt Lillard.  That film is dear to me because I met Mark Hutchings and Lisa Dietrich while working on that film.  They are an important part of the backbone of "Jamie's Way"!  Thank you so much, Mark and Lisa!  I would not have made it this far without you!

I spent three months in the summer of 2000 working on the WB series "Young Americans".  We were all disappointed that it was canceled  :(  And I know there are still tons of fans still chatting about it on the message boards.  I'm very grateful to "Young Americans" because it put me to work for three solid months and gave me enough money to finance our third episode of Jamie's Way!!  We also have tons of pics from the Young Americans set!
